2009 Kindergarten Eye Screening

Smiling Lions faces greeted over 120 future students and their parents at the recent Billerica Lions Club Kindergarten Eye Screening held at BMHS	Billerica Lions have been conducting these valuable eye screenings for almost 50 years in Billerica.

Kindergarteners first "played a game" in which their vision was evaluated using several screening tests.	Hearing tests are important, too.

A nursing student from the Shawsheen Tech LPN program administers one of the tests.	Here, audiometry test equipment is operated by Shawsheen Tech LPN Nursing Program students.

A very satisfied customer is examined by Dr. Jackie Kong, O.D.	What a Team!

Billerica Lions Club member Dr. James Fantasian, O.D. also participated in this community-wide event.	The Shawsheen Valley Technical High School LPN Nursing Program provided over twenty volunteer student nurses & their Nursing Program instructors, Carole Butze, R.N., and Mrs. Higgins.
